Riveroak Builders of Sevenoaks are celebrating league success after a fourth year of sponsorship for the Maidstone United Raiders Gold and Silver football teams, the Gold team having won the Kent Disability League and the Silver team finishing the season fourth.
The Raiders run a squad of 25 players and field A and B teams in the Kent PAN Disability Adult League playing 7-a-side football and competing with 10 other teams from around Kent and Sussex.
Phil Kamp is pictured holding the trophy, presented by Steph Gadd from Kent FA following the final tournament which took place at the Hayesbrook School, Tonbridge in May.
In a further presentation at the Hilton Maidstone on 19 May, Riveroak Director Tony Shepherd and his wife Diane were presented with the Clubman of the Year Award for their outstanding contribution to the development of disability football at the club. Pictured left to right are Tony, his wife Diane, and their son Dominic (who plays in the Gold Team) together with Lorraine Humm – Head of Disability Football at Maidstone United FC.
Tony Shepherd said:
“I feel enormously proud of the lads and what they’ve achieved this season. It’s been a privilege to train alongside them and witness their progress. Of course, we’re all looking forward to great things again next season and especially the move to the new FIFA approved facilities at Maidstone FC’s new Gallagher Stadium in August”.
