We are pleased to announce the completion of an indoor swimming pool and gym complex for a private residence in Purley, Surrey.

The building comprises a 15 metre swimming pool with poolhouse, shower room and a home gym. To satisfy the owners' requirement for a carbon-neutral development, the poolhouse was built on a 200mm polystyrene base which also surrounded the pool to just below ground level. The pool is heated by means of a highly efficient ground source heating system which gathers underground heat from the garden.

The building's steel frame contstruction facilitates a vaulted ceiling for maximum space and light. Innovative use of stretch vinyl ceiling material means the roof will never require decorating and bi-folding doors allow the pool to be opened up during the summer onto the newly landscaped garden area.
